Description: William Kennington (b.1880) and his wife Annie, with their son Frank (b.1913). William started work in offices at Manchester London Road Station, but then moved from GCR to LNWR as a cleaner, progressing to fireman in 1904. He left the railway and moved to run a walking stick and tobacconist's shop in Glossop owned by his parents. During World War 1 he served with the Railway Operating Division in France.
