Placing an order

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment via Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard and PayPal.

Please note that we do not accept payment by American Express or cheques.

Do you offer next day shipping?

All our products are made to order which means we are unable to offer next day delivery.

I would like to place a large order can I get a discount?

We will be happy to discuss your requirements and work out an appropriate discount.

Do you ship framed prints outside the EU?

Yes we do, please call or email us and tell us what you would like to order and where you want it delivered to. We can provide a postage quote for you.

Photos and image licensing

Can I license images through Picture the Past?

We offer a range of image licensing options on many of the images listed on Picture the Past. Prices vary depending on use. You can use the image use selector on each photo to receive an instant quote.

How do I download images?

Once you have purchased an image you can access your download:

  • Through the link in your download email; or
  • Log in to your My Account area and go to Downloads

Art prints and framed prints

How are prints packaged?

Art prints and posters are rolled in protective wrapping and shipped in a cardboard tube.

Framed prints are wrapped in protective packaging and shipped in sturdy box to protect it during transit.

How long does it take for my framed print to arrive?

We make your framed print to order. Please allow up to 14 days for your print to be dispatched.

I received my order but the image is not as clear as I expected.

Many of the images on Picture the Past are very old. They will not have the clarity of modern digital photos and may have faded over time. We do our best to clean up images when they are scanned but it should be expected that there can be flaws and fading beyond our control.
