Description: This small stone dam was erected across one of the headwaters of the Beeley Brook towards the top end of Hell Bank Plantation and impounded a small pond.
It served to take a path across the stream but that may not have been its primary purpose; nor is its date of construction clear - it is not marked on an early 1950s map but does appear on one published in 1970. The stonework actually looks quite fresh in this view.
By 2016 the dam had been broken with only sections to either side surviving, although whether this was the result of planned demolition or a washout is not known.
