Description: The Old Market Hall is an early 17th-century stone building that easily betrays its original purpose, though the open space and arches reveal it to be spacious for commerce. It has mullioned and an oriel window and bears a plaque of the Manners family. It has been used as a wash-house, chip shop and library (not all at the same time!) It now serves as a Tourist Information Centre for the Peak District National Park.
