Description: In 1330 Henry III granted the right to hold a 15 day fair which expanded over the years to a regular stock market. Permanent pens were eventually set out and auctions begin in 1914. In 1996 proposals were exhibited for the redevelopment of this site and the livestock market has since moved to the opposite side of the river.
