Description: Looking east towards the bridge over the Golden Brook. 'Derby Rd' is either a bit of creative thinking by the publisher of the original postcard, or was a descriptive name - the official name for the then main Derby-Long Eaton highway at this point was Draycott Road from at least the late 1890s. The houses on the left were all still standing in 2011, but those on the right fell victim to road widening between the wars.
The cottage on the right with its gable to the road can be seen to better effect in DCRO100717.
