Description: A group photo showing staff at Dronfield Gosforth Secondary Modern School, which had opened in 1955 to serve 11-15 year olds in the Dronfield area following housing development. In 1990 Gosforth was merged with The Gladys Buxton School and the Henry Fanshawe School to form The Dronfield School. Subsequently, the Gosforth site was closed in 2003 and demolished two years later with the area formerly occupied by the school buildings being used to construct new houses. Students and staff were re-located to the Fanshawe site (as were those from Gladys Buxton), which was then renamed the Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School.

Picture the Past website contributor Neil Peers adds: 'John Elliot was music not English, Marilyn Finch was PE, Webster was (I believe) a science teacher. Havenhand was also Deputy Head. I was a pupil at Gosforth between 1975 and 1978. Mr Roddis (a really good teacher and decent bloke) died in about 1981, Havenhand in 2012 or 2013'.
