Description: The Henry Fanshawe School was founded in 1579 by Thomas Fanshawe. The oldest part of the school was begun in 1866 when the Rev. Charles Fanshawe laid the foundation stone on the present site overlooking Chesterfield Road. The school moved into this neo-Elizabethan building from its original site overlooking Fanshawe Bank, near Church Street. The school is now known as The Dronfield School.
