Description: 'Pink String and Sealing Wax' was a popular melodramatic play by Roland Pertwee. The dark story was about a married woman who lures a naive young chemist into innocently giving her the means to poison her brutal husband. The murder done, the plot then weaves around her blackmailing schemes to prevent her deed being discovered. It was made into an excellent film starring Googie Withers in 1945 by Michael Balcon.
