Description: This picture was donated by Mr William (Bill Sutton), an elderly resident of East Leake, who was abe to identify all of the buildings, and who could remember the names of the people who lived there at the time of this picture:- The large building in the centre was the Post Office, the manager then was Mr Clark. To its right, with the gable, was the house of Mr and Mrs Harrison. The semi detached cottages on the right belonged to Jack Barnett the cobbler and Mr and Mrs Goodacre. Atkins shop - General Provisions is the first building on the rght side of the road. The thatched building belonged to Mr and Mrs Harry Savage. Their son Eric Savage is standing in the road (sadly, now deceased). On the extreme left is Mr and Mrs Stan Howe's house. to its right is the wheelwrightand blacksmith's workshop. Most of these buildings, apart from the post office and the house next to it, have gone. Note the early vehicles behind Eric
