Fourth from left bottom row shows Barmaster John How, he died after an accidental fall at Castleton in 1908. Sixth from left bottom row is Robert How Ashton who lived at Losehill Hall, a local dignitary who had interests in many mining ventures, he died June 1871. Between them sits Benjamin Barber, the agent of the mine. Robert Bocking his Brother in law is first on the left, bottom row. Second from right, bottom row is Robert Evans, the Mine Manager, his sons Isaac and James are second from left and second from right, middle row, Fourth and Fifth from left on same row are John and Joseph Jackson from Castleton. The tall figure of George Ashmore is fourth from the left, back row, he was tragically killed in the Wortley shaft on the east side of Bradwell in 1877. Elias Jeffrey is first on the right, back row.'
