Description: Mary Dickin (nee Croxall) (1853 - 1932) born to a railway fitter at Derby 1853, was originally a seamstress before her marriage to Arthur Gilbert Dickin in 1874, with whom she ran a grocer's shop at princes street, Derby, at the corner with Rutland street. Following her husbands death in 1910 she carried on the business with her son Arthur Ernest Dickin whilst still trading under the name of the deceased. Upon her death at Basford in 1932 the shop became that of Arthur Ernest Dickin.
