Description: This photo was taken on 30th April 1967, a week after the official end of traffic.
This was a 'brake-van tour' (ie rather than passenger carriages, participants travelled in brake vans; this was presumably due, as shown here, to the tight curves along the line). Given the date, this railway enthusiasts' 'special' (excursion) had probably been organized because the High Peak line was about to close. Note the train was 'double-headed' (ie there are two engines, both at the front).
