Description: This postcard has been labelled as 'Derby Road' although there is now no Derby Road in Idridgehay, which suggests that it is now known as Wirksworth Road. The image may have been taken close to the junction of Wirksworth Road and Ecclesbourne Lane looking south towards Derby. The Building on the left could be the former vicarage which was knocked down after being damaged by a land mine which landed nearby in the Second World War. The property on the right side could be Idridgehay House. The image of Idridgehay vicarage, DRBY007843, is taken in the garden of the Vicarage. Comparing the house to the one shown in this photograph there are perhaps some similarities between the buildings. In the photograph of the vicarage there appears to be the roof and chimney of a property in the top left of the photograph. This could perhaps be Idridgehay House.
