First Tupton Brownies, begun by Marjorie Ellis, Brown Owl and Mrs Slack, Tawny Owl, met here, as did First Tupton Guides, captained by Hilary Hinchcliffe, lieutenant, Stephanie Hinchcliffe. Scouts and Cubs met here and the next-door Methodist church used it for anniversaries.
