Description:
From David Birt's book 'Steaming Through the 1980s; Steam Resurrected in and around Derby':
A view from the now dismantled footbridge of the southern approach to Derby Midland railway station. The lines from London and Birmingham can be clearly seen together with the Power Box and The Railway Technical Centre. Preserved steam loco Castle class 7P 5080 Defiant is a rare sight on traditionally midland metals making this a truly historic scene.
