Description:
From David Birt's book 'Steaming Through the 1980s; Steam Resurrected in and around Derby':
Castle class 7P 5080 Defiant is seen from platform 6 of Derby Midland Railway Station passing under the locomotive works footbridge (since demolished) on trials from the Birmingham Railway Museum. The locomotive has been coaled and watered in 'The Dock' at Derby and is going for tests at 'The Test House' at the Railway Technical Centre.
