Description: Hospital Day was an annual event to raise money for the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. The coachman in the top-hat is C. A. Poulson, driving the King of the Parade in a decorated carriage, hired from Averys livery stables, Curzon Street, for the day. In the background is P E Stevenson, gentleman's outfitters. The picture was probably taken in St Peter's Street as the last building seems to be the bank on the corner of St Peter's Churchyard.
