Description:
William W Tilley purchased the Matlock House hydro in July 1915 but his enterprise proved shortlived and the business had ceased by 1918.
This view is looking east and shows The Tennis Court. It is taken from a picture postcard produced in order to promote the hotel and its attractions.
Today the site of this tennis court is occupied by a residential development called Upper Greenhill Gardens. The hotel itself was later used as offices by the Inland Revenue but by 2014 had been converted into apartments.
