Description: Mary Jennison Marriott is girl on the right of third row (behind girl with hair ribbons). She lived at Henstone Cottage (aka Dog Kennels) which is between Bath House and Marsh Green Road, sadly it is now in ruins in Wilmot's Field. Mary left school in 1909, aged 13, and went to work at Crosslands shop. Mary's father, Samuel Holmes Marriott, is buried in the churchyard in Ashover. He was a farmer and quarryman in his spare time and he quarried stone for the Moor Road Methodist Chapel. Mary had at least three brothers; Albert was next oldest, then Dick. Albert went to America as a Methodist minister. The donor's (Mr Hill, Mary was his mother) grandfather's brother, Gerry, lived at Bath House.
