Description: A group of Taddington inhabitants celebrating the marriage of Mr Bramwell's younger daughter, Edith Helen to Mr William Mitchell Calderwood who like the first bridegroom was also stationed in Shanghai. Edith and William were married from the Bramwell family's London home at 4 York House, Kensington West on 8th September 1913. The ceremony was conducted at St Mary Abbots, Kensington. Mr and Mrs Bramwell entertained the local populace to sports, tea and entertainment. Along the competitions were: Ladies nail-driving and button-stitching events. The hammer throwing competition was won by PC Hallam with Police Sgt. Kendal third. Sgt. Kendal's team won the tug-of-war. Refreshments for the adults were a knife and fork tea in the Recreation Room, while the children had sandwich tea in White's School. Orlando Hambleton's head can be seen over the shoulder of the man smoking a pipe and wearing a watchchain.
