Description: Mr & Mrs Norman Thomson emerging from the porch of St Michael's Church, Taddington after their wedding on the afternoon of 17 August 1912. Mr Thomson, then aged 30, a chartered accountant on home leave from his Shanghai post, was living at his widowed mother's home in Didsbury. His brother Harold, was best man. The bride's sister, herself to marry a groom from Shanghai, was one of the bridesmaids and along with the best man, signed the register as witnesses. The officiating clergy were the Reid Canon Wm Chas Ford, rector of Ervam, Burton Moor, Emmanuel Church, Didsbury and the rector of Taddington, the Revd Dr. Harold Ford.
