Description: The shop became the Candy Corner shop in the 1950's.
Website contributor Christine Shepherd very kindly relates the following information about this image: "It shows my Grandad John Henry Genders in his white coat which he wore to cut hair in his gent's hairdressers. He cut hair here for many years and had a good clientele. During WW2 he would go to Swanwick Hall to cut the German prisoner's hair, and in the latter stages of the war the prisoners were allowed to come to the salon themselves for a hair cut."
