Description: Looking along Irongate towards All Saints Cathedral in Derby. The cathedral, once All Saints Parish Church, now mainly dates to the 18th century (but with a 16th century tower) and was granted cathedral status in 1927. The postcard is a painting by H Hadfield Cubley. The spire to the left of the Cathedral belonged to St Alkmund's Church, since demolished. The church was nick-named 'Holy Spite' as it deliberately blocked the view of the Catholic Church.
