Description: Pictured here with a three horse dray outside the Crabtree Public House is Alfred Ellis (3rd from the right). Alfred and his father James worked for the local railway. Alfred lived on Far Green from 1906 until 1978 when he moved to Sheffield to his daughters and died in May 1980, aged 96. His daughter Marjorie (his only child) still lives in Sheffield, now aged 90. The milk float shown on the left is outside what was a fish and chip shop in the 1940's and 1950's. The shop was run by Annie Crowder so the shop was known as Annie's Chip Shop. The drum of cable on the dray may have been used for the tram at Bank Road.
