Description: The hotel was built in c 1878, replacing the Old Bath Hotel. It had its own thermal spring which fed the pump room in the pavilion. It burnt down in 1928. In the foreground of the picture is a pool surrounded with tufa rocks and which was filled by a mineral spring. The site today of the Royal Hotel is occupied by a public car park and above it is now Gulliver's Kingdom. Print of a photograph taken from 'Derbyshire in Photographs' Vol 4
