Description: This former coaching inn is close to Longshaw Youth Hostel (originally a hunting lodge). Fox House was famous for ham and eggs. The Innkeeper at the time of this photograph was John Thompson, from 1856 to 1891. He was the great grandfather of the donor. (Longshaw Lodge is no longer a Youth Hostel. The estate is owned by the National Trust and the house has been made into flats). The world famous Longshaw Sheepdog Trials are held here every September.
