Description: A rare view of the Royal Hotel which was built in 1878 and destroyed by fire in 1927. Behind it on the hillside is the old Pavilion, the newer pavilion (called The Kursaal) was built in the extreme bottom right. The site today of the old pavilion is occupied by a public car park and Gulliver's Kingdom. Note the Switchback ride at the bottom left, located in the riverside gardens.
