Description: The former mill was on the left bank, yards north of the Cossall Bridleway Bridge as viewed from the south-east. There has been a mill here since Medieval times and it is believed to have had an undershot wheel which was situated to the right of the large gable end. The water corn mill is believed to have ceased working in 1830s, around the time a steam corn mill was built on the Erewash Canal, on the Washmeadow. The cottage itself, was demolished in the early Twentieth century. The site was investigated by members of the Ilkeston and District Local History Society in 1968, and some millstones were recovered.
