Description: Built as a farmhouse 1812, then used as an inn on the Derby Canal; it burnt down in 1944. The picture shows the pub looking from the South with houses on Victor Crescent behind it. The neighbourhood was part of Sandiacre until the early 1920's, when the boundary with Long Eaton was altered to run along the north bank of the canal and by the time of this picture the inn was technically in Long Eaton. If you walk down the old Derby Canal you can see that the foundations of the old pub still remain underneath the undergrowth.
