Description: Viewed from the south east from the footbridge over the railway sidings. The colliery is believed to have been sunk to the Kilburn Seam in 1876-77, in proximity to the earlier Rutland Nos 1 and 2 Collieries. Headstocks were renewed in 1902; and Manners Colliery was closed in 1949. Taken as part of the 'Views of Ilkeston' Series.
