Description:
The original caption relating to this picture reads 'Dale Abbey - bat found in the ceiling of the Padrill - one of them is now in the Derby Museum'. Can anyone explain this slightly cryptic description? What is 'the Padrill'? There may be a connection with All Saints Church at Dale but this may simply be down to a misidentification of the building in the background which is not All Saints but The Friar's House elsewhere in the village.
