Description: Little Hallam Hall is a 16th century timber-framed house with a brick-built wing of 18th century date. It is listed Grade II and is Ilkeston's oldest surviving domestic residence. This view is looking north-west and shows the east elevation of the house. Today the Hall is accessed from a modern road called The Spinney that did not exist at the date of this photograph - this follows the alignment of the driveway seen in the foreground. The photographer was standing on the parallel railway embankment to obtain this slightly elevated shot.
