Description: The Duke is shown at the former Crosshill and Codnor railway station building. This was located on the ex-Midland Railway branch between Langley Mill, Heanor and Ripley, which had closed in 1926. The redundant station building was subsequently used as a social club for unemployed men, thus accounting for the Duke's visit.
The Duke visited Bolsover in 1937, but it is not clear whether this was the same occasion as depicted here.
