Description: Print of a drawing showing members of the Cavendish family, comprising two men on horseback: Charles, Viscount Mansfield and Henry Cavendish the younger; and five couples seated within an arched building to the rear. Drawn by Abraham Diepenbeke or Diepenbeeck (1596-1675), engraved by Peeter van Lisebetten (1630-1678), and captioned in French.
The location has been suggested as the Riding School at Bolsover Castle but equally the building may be fictitious and merely there to frame the individuals depicted. Can anyone provide a more detailed interpretation of this picture?
