Description: The photograph shows the refurbished Commercial Hotel, offering top quality accommodation. The original Commercial Inn around 1790 by Joseph Storrs as a coaching inn and post house and it was used by the Chesterfield Canal owners as a meeting place. It was a freehouse until 1897 when it was bought by the Tadcaster Brewery Company and comprised cottages, large stables, coach house, a blacksmith's shop and other buildings.
