Description: Number 12 (Hayfield Platoon) 'C' (New Mills) COY. Third Derbyshire BN. HG.
Hayfield was once the home of that much loved 'Dad's Army' star Arthur Lowe, but naturally during the war the village had its own Home Guard. Parish councillor Edmund Houghton has for years treasured this photograph and by asking round has even been able to put names to the faces.
