Description: This picture shows a Church procession walking along Ripley High Street, towards the Market Place. This was an annual event, at whitsun. Each banner represented a different Church. The service was always held in the Market Place until the traffic got too busy and then it moved to the park. Children's services were held at the other end. Speaker addressed the crowd from a bandstand.
