Description: This picture shows a Church procession gathering on Ripley Market Place. This was an annual event, at whitsun. Each banner represented a different Church. The service was always held in the Market Place until the traffic got too busy and then it moved to the park. Children's services were held at the other end. Speaker addressed the crowd from a bandstand. The bus in the foreground was Guy bus service which ran from Ripley to Jacksdale via the coach road.
