Description: The Old Steam Mill stood for over 200 years. It came on the market in 1892 on the death of Thomas Steeples, whose family had milled there for over a century. It was demolished in the early 1900s and the bricks were bought by Mr George Severn who used them to build shops in Codnor Market Place. Prior to the demolition wood was sawn at the Mill for the construction of Ripley Zoo in 1908.
