Description: Hall Farm was the farm attached to Duffield Hall. The owner of the farm was Dick Yates. It was demolished around 1963 because the current library was built on this site in 1964. Opposite the building are the grounds of Ecclesbourne School, built between 1957 and 1958. The school sign in this photograph must relate to this school. A holly tree pictured in the photograph could be the same tree standing in front of the current library. Note that the road was straightened out after the demolition of Hall Farm. There is a stone trough currently outside Duffield Library which used to belong to Hall Farm. There is a matching one the other side of Ecclesbourne Close (adjacent to the library). Hall Farm was built in the 18th Century and the buildings to the left of the picture were probably built earlier than this.
