A tribute to Prince Philip, 10th June 1921 – 8th April 2021
When Buckingham Palace announced the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99 on 8th April 2021, many people in Derbyshire, across the country and around the world expressed their sadness and also their respect for the much-loved Prince.
The Duke of Edinburgh is the longest serving Royal consort in British history, and was at the side of Queen Elizabeth II throughout her reign and throughout their marriage of almost 74 years.
In tribute to his life, Picture the Past has selected some images of the Duke of Edinburgh's visits to the Derbyshire area.
Picture the Past and Derbyshire County Council are keen to collect photos and recollections about Prince Philip. If you would like to make a contribution, please contact us here.
