Description: The old Trent Bridge looking east. This picture is dated 1871 and shows the many-arched structure before its demolition in 1872. According to Robert Mellors in Nottingham Suburbs 'Then & Now' (1914) some of the stone was re-used to rebuild the north aisle in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Plumtree.
The artist, William Wilde (1826-1901), specialised in landscapes and he painted many scenes around Nottingham.
