Description: Nathan Moss pictured outside the George Hotel with his horse and landau carriage which he hired out. The estimated date of this image is 1890, being as he moved from Middleton-by-Youlgreave some 4 years earlier. The steps which the women (possible his wife and daughter) are standing by, led up to the clubroom where the 'Adventures of the Peak' Lodge of the Oddfellows held their meetings. They have long been demolished and the clubroom is part of the altered hotel. The hotel itself ceased trading in the early 1960s and has been converted into residential units.
