Description: A view looking east down the River Meden from the bridge carrying Littlewood Lane. The stone railway viaduct carried the ex-Midland Railway Mansfield to Worksop line. Although this route is still in use as part of the Robin Hood Line, the viaduct itself was converted into an embankment in the British Railways era, possibly as a result of mining subsidence.
In railway terms the viaduct was simply known as Bridge No 47 and should not be confused with the Meden Viaduct proper, which lay two miles to the west and carried the Midland Railway's Pleasley Extension line over Pleasley Vale and the river at a considerably higher elevation.
