Description: Incomplete steam locomotive - 47564 is an LMSR æ3FÆ 0-6-0T locomotive built by the Hunslet Engine Company Ltd in Leeds (makerÆs number 1580) in 1928. It was taken out of service by British Railways in 1965 and found further use as a static carriage heater in the Manchester area (where it was numbered 2022) for a period before purchase for the Midland Railway Trust project in 1972. It was initially moved to BREL Derby Locomotive Works for temporary storage until movement to the Midland Railway Centre. 47564 was purchased in incomplete condition (as on the photo minus cab and side tanks) for use as a spare parts donor for the three other engines of this class at the Midland Railway Centre.
