Description: Bakewell is an old market town. Monday has been market day since at least 1330. The town has a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and of course it is the home of the famous Bakewell Pudding. This is taken from Scots Gardens looking across to where the Mill Stream meets the River Wye. The bridge connects Castle Street with Milford. Milford, on the right, was fields then but has been built up since. The high wall runs along the mill stream at Brookside. (Additional information very kindly supplied by Janice Mather).
