Description: This postcard was found in a house clearance of the Buxton family of Whaley Bridge. It may relate to the Waterhouse family, although the presence of a nurse and that the girls are are in somwhat uniform pinafores suggests that these girls might be from an orphanage or hospital. The postcard was sent from Peter Waterhouse, Wadsley Bridge, Sheffield to his mother, Mrs P Waterhouse, Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge. The postmark was 26 September 1917 and the message read 'Landed in quite safe am out of all danger will write later' (which may be a wartime message).
