Description: Chase Cliffe stands on the road into Whatstandwell from Crich, on the site of the old 'Hob Hall'. The large Tudor-style house was built for the Hurt Family by Ferrey between 1859 and 1861. The Hurts were considerable benefactors to Crich, contributing to the restoration of the Church in 1861 and the erection of the Fritchley Mission Church and school in 1870.
