Description: Believed to have been built in the late 18th Century as the parish workhouse and probably used as such until after the 1834 Poor Law Act, after which Trowell joined the Basford Union. The building was subsequently used as a school by John Hall (d. 1858) and latterly as private residences. This view was taken from the South. the beneficiaries are recorded as Lord Middleton, Elizabeth Hacker and Handley's Charity.
